Sparkling Cut Crease ft Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow!

Hello! Meow! I've been able to get a couple new things recently and I am so excited to be able to review them. Thank you tax return! One of the things I picked up was my first Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow. And one of the first things I did was whip it out of it's packaging and make a tutorial with it. I promise to review all these things ASAP but for now.. check out my tutorial!

This is the look we will be creating!

Start with clean, moisturized skin! This is especially important for this look because I wanted glowing, "lit from within" skin.

Prime your eyes with a flesh toned primer such as  MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly.

Using an angled brush, mark out your crease with  MAC Espresso Eye Shadow. Remember to keep that line crisp!

Blow out the shadow above the creasing using a fluffy brush. Although you want it blended, remember to keep the crease crisp!

Now for the hard part! Take your Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow (This one is Metallic Dusty Rose) and pat it onto your lid using your pinky. Try to get as close to the crease line as possible without smudging it.

This is what your eye will look like after those steps!

Now fill in your brows! A strong brow looks great with a cut crease.

Time for foundation! Use a buildable foundation to get skin that looks flawless without being cakey. MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 is a great option.

Apply a pink blush such as Stila Custom Color Blush in Sheer Pink to the apples of your cheeks and slightly up your cheek bones. Contour the hollows of your face with a cream product. I'm obsessed with Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow!

No face is finished without liner and lashes! Use a black liquid liner (Too Faced 3*Way Lash Lining Tool ) on your top lash line and make sure you wing it out. I like wings in summer. Tight line in between lashes and your upper waterline for a full lashes look - no falsies needed! For a bright, awake look line your bottom water line with a nude liner or concealer pencil like the super cheap Hard Candy Glamoflauge Pencil. Finish off with a few coats of black mascara! (Clinique High Impact Mascara - Black)

And add some lipstick! What kind of look would it be without lipstick? Go for a bright colour in the same family as your blush. I used OCC Lip Tar in Strumpet. Also, if you need to do any last minute concealing - now is the time!

An "eyes closed" view of the final product! I had to do some cleaning up of the crease because of glitter transfer.

Here it is! What do you think? Feed back is always welcome and appreciated!

My first tutorial with my new camera!

Woohoo! I got a new camera when I was in the Okanagan. I don't really know how to use it yet but uhm.. I made a tutorial with it anyway. Here it is!

As usual, start with your clean and moisturized face. I got a little facial treatment done at work by the lovely Julia so my skin was looking pretty good!

Just another no makeup picture, so you can see the before wholly!

It's skin time! I've used MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance in Radiant Yellow, MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW13, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20, and MAC Prep + Prime Translucent Finishing Powder. I decided to break from my usual order and did my brows using the NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in Brunette. I noticed after this picture that my one brow looked MESSED UP. So I fixed it after. Oh yes, I also primed my lids with MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly.

Start your eyes off by smudging some Clinique Cream Shaper for Eyes in Egyptian (a dark green with gold flecks) all over your lower lash and water line.

And then do the exact same thing on the top. Yep. Looks real pretty right about now.

Blend MAC Veluxe Pearl Eyeshadow in Woodwinked all over my lids (upper and lower). For the upper, I blended well above my crease. See how smokey and sexy the liner underneath makes the shadow? I like dat.

Line your eyes and slap on some mascara. This looks extra sexy with winged liner. I used MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack and Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies in Blackest Black.

Don't forget to reline your lower waterline! I used Smashbox Limitless Eye Liner in Onyx.

Here is what the look should look like so far! Yes, I did indeed fix the part of my nose that had no foundation earlier. My bad. I was busy trying to figure out the freaking camera.

Time to contour and highlight your face! Contour the hollows of your cheeks, around your jawline, your forehead, the sides of your nose, any anywhere else you feel like you want some shading. Then go and highlight the high points you want featured like your cheekbones, cupids bow, centre of your nose, and brow bone. I used Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow to contour and Benefit High Beam to Highlight. Oh yeah, put some blush on the apples of your cheeks! I like to use a stain for a radiant flushed look such as the Balm Stainiac in Beauty Queen.

Since it is sunny and spring-y out - go for a bright pink lip! I used NYX Matte Lipstick in Shocking Pink with NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait. I realize it might not be sunny where you are. Wear pink anyway. It's fun.

Here is your finished look! And my friend Conor. Hi Conor.

 Bye! <3

I SAW MY FAMILY!

This past weekend I had the good fortune of going to the Okanagan to visit my family and friends. I got to see my best friend, my sisters, my mom, and my aunt Brenda! She lives in Sacramento, California which is a pretty far distance from Vancouver, British Columbia.

I went back to get a Booster Juice from my old job and visited with the owner. He barely recognized Shauna and I! I guess that's what happens when you grow up. I had a drink with my youngest sister for the first time. I saw a show put on by my old highschool that made me feel ancient even though I'm only 23. I saw my friend Megan and her husband Siyani. I got to do 20's makeups on my mom's dance students!

I also got to do my Aunt Brenda's makeup! Yay! Here is a before and after on her. She's basically my hero so uhm, this was a pretty big deal!

What do you think of Brenda's look? I thought she looked gorgeous! For good measure, I'm also including a picture of my best friend and I in Booster Juice.
