An Everyday Work Makeup ft. Lorac Unzipped

Hello my pretties! Sorry for the lack of updates blah blah blah. Let's face it. I'm pretty much a terrible blogger.  Oh well. Such is the life of a full time busy girl! Today, I got up at 8:00 am though and don't work  until 1:30 which left me plenty of time to do a tutorial. Plus, my amazing boyfriend got me a little lamp for the bathroom that gives me not-quite-as-shitty lighting!

I decided to do a tutorial of a makeup I do pretty often to wear to work. It's simple, it's shimmery, and it stays in place during a busy day managing the Jugo Juice!

**...doo doo doo doo doo doo doo..* I forgot to upload the pictures! It's taking FOREVER. Maybe I will write everything out THEN add pictures and see how that works out for me.

1. Start with a clean, moisturized face! I've never really touched on skincare (yet!) but I will let you all know that I use Dermalogica's Skin Smoothing Cream. It's the only thing that works for me.

2. Using your hands, work a BB cream or foundation into your skin. I used Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in #21. It's a bit dark and if I purchase again, I will definitely go for the #13. I ALSO mixed in a tiny bit of the BB cream with my shadow primer. I have really dark eyes.. look at the difference it makes.

3. Using a dense, flat shadow brush I pat Undiscovered (a warm gold) from Lorac Unzipped onto the inner 1/3 of my eyelid.

4. Using the same eyeshadow brush I pack Unreal from the same palette onto the middle 1/3 of my eyes. This is a slightly rosier gold which I find brightens up my eye.

5. Next using again the same brush and palette I put Uncensored on the outer 1/3 and just above the crease! This color is so, so gorgeous.

6. Using a large fluffy blending brush, blend Uncensored into the crease, slightly above, and into the Unreal on the middle 1/3..

7. I had some trouble getting a finished pic of the eyeshadow IN the look so TADA here it is! I also added Undercover along my brow bone. Speaking of brows, mine are looking rough again! Here's a hint people - do NOT let your cat in the bathroom while your trimming your brows.

 8. The next thing I did was to line my top lash line with an Avon black eyeliner and my bottom waterline with NYX Eye and Brow pencil in White Pearl. I LOVE this white liner. I also filled in my brows using a warm brown eyeshadow. I kinda messed them up today. It happens.. but I'm too lazy to redo them! Usually I would go for a gel liner but Phileas decided to pay stealsies with some of my brushes (like my favorite angled brush) and cat mouth is dirty.
9. Add some mascara! I used Covergirl Waterproof Clump Crusher. I get wet at work and covered in juice so this is important for me.

10. I added some powder all over my face (Clinique Stay Matte in Stay Buff) and a Lumene Lipgloss to shine it up. I don't wear blush at work because when I'm hot I get SO pink! And I'm always hot at work. Also, check out my dorky hair!

Also. No I do not have a bowl cut. I have bangs that look really cute when my hair is done. And really ridiculous when it's up. "Dumb move Jayne. You wear your hair up 5 days a week at least."

Michelle's Bridal Trial

This past Tuesday I was lucky enough to do my amazing boyfriend's sister, Michelle's, trial makeup for her wedding! She is getting married this coming July and I am honored she asked me to do my makeup! I've got to admit doing makeup on someone you know is the most nerve wracking. It always feel 10x more important to do it well because you are going to have to face them after if you mess up! (Not that I don't work hard all the time..!!)

Anyway, I wanted to share a few pics with my lovely readers.

Wearable Summer Color Look

Hello my loves! I have finally made another tutorial. The funny thing about this is that all the reasons  for not making one before are still true PLUS now I have tendinitis in my rotator cuff and can't lift my RIGHT ARM to do my makeup. Sounds like the perfect time to make a tutorial.. right? I decided to do a look using a bright summer color (in this case purple) that is still every day wearable!

Start with a clean moisturized face as always! Mine is looking PRETTY rough because I haven't been able to sleep. Everytime I drift off I roll onto my hurt shoulder!

Add some foundation and concealer and hope to God it makes you look even half decent. I used Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in Beige Rose Pastel. It's a tad orange but hey, I NEEDED to finish off the damn bottle eventually. I also showered after this.

Add a light taupe-y silver to your lid up to the crease. I used Verve from Urban Decay's Naked 2. I also highlighted my brow bone using a white shadow from my Sonia Kashuk palette.

Take a bright colored shadow and apply it right into your crease. Don't add too much or you will have trouble with the next step. I chose to use a bright purple but really any bright color will work. I swear it looked bright purple in person.

Blend the shadow into and slightly above your crease. It's a subtle way to wear brights. Especially if you don't blend it quite as high as I have it. You can only really notice the pop of color when you close your eyes!

In this step I REconcealed under my eyes using the Yaby concealer in Buff that came in my May ipsy. I extended the concealer past my eyes in a diagonal line to sharpen up the edges of the shadow.

Here I've filled in my brows using Elf's brow kit in Medium. I also STARTED my liner process. The first thing I do when I am lining with a gel liner is to go along as close to the lash line as possible pushing the liner into my lashes.

Then I use my angled brush and thicken up the line. Make sure it is thinner on the inside and thicker on the outside. I used Maybeline gel liner in black.

To start my cat eye I angle the brush upward following the line of my eye and press down to create a thin line. Actually, this is NOT how I do my own cat eyes because as you will see later, my hooded eye eats them right up and makes it look weird. However, if you don't have hooded lids this method will work wonders for you.

Then draw another line connecting the tip of the first line to the liner in a triangle shape and fill it in!

Add some blush! I used Maybelline's Dream Bouncy Blush.

And some mascara - Maybelline The Falsies. It seems to be a Maybelline day today!

And add a lippy such as Juice Beauty lip gloss and you are done!

AND ALSO IF YOU ARE FEELING CRAZY PUT ON A PURPLE CREAM SHADOW AS LIPSTICK..! Yep.
