Post Birthday Pick Me Up Makeup!

Hello loves! As some of you may know I had my 23rd birthday this past Saturday. I didn't do anything wild - I'm not a big crowds person. I did however spend both Friday and Saturday nights up quite late with friends and my amazing boyfriend. He got me roller skates and all the gear needed to skate! I am so excited.

Anyway. It was Sunday night around 10:30, I looked *rough* and really was just ready for an early night. This was not the plan. My lovely little sister (illknowwhereimgoing.wordpress.com) was coming back from her trip to Australia at 11:30 pm and I was to be meeting her at the airport. Needless to say I did not want to look as though I hadn't slept in 3 days when I saw her for the first time in 7 months! I wanted to look fresh and excited!

Here is a tutorial of the makeup I did that evening! I don't know why in my rush I decided "hey maybe I should make a tutorial" but I did! We ended up being late to pick her up but it was ok because she took FOREVER in customs!

This is my before face. It i neither clean nor moisturized. Just being honest.

I applied my foundation (Revlon Photoready in Ivory) using a sponge and applied concealer under my eyes. (Clinique Airbrush Concealer in 01 Fair)

Using my Lorac Pro palette I applied Lt Bronze and Champagne on my lid up to the crease. For this I used a MAC 231.

I then used a MAC 224 to blend Lorac Pro's Sable into the crease.

I then highlighted my brow bone with the White in my pro palette on a generic fluffy brush from makeup school. PS: My brows are rough. They had like.. 3 days of smudgey product in them since I, grossly, hadn't washed my face they hadn't come off.

The next thing I did was line my upper lash line with Etude House Line Nuance in Number 04 and my bottom water line with NYX pencil in Pearl.

I threw one some Mascara (Benefit They're Real) and some peachy blush (Milani Dolce Pink)

I throw on some lipstick and gloss and voila! I was done! Except. Then I decided the lipstick looked like I was trying too hard for how late at night it was.

So I took it off and put on my trust Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector! This is a silly face to show off the makeup.

Can you tell I was over tired?

Voila! This is what I really look like when I went to see my sister! I find it a drastic but natural looking change compared to my hagard before pic.

It was awesome seeing her again. Matt bbq'd us some burgers even though it was closer to 1 am by the time we got back to  my place. She was only there the one night and had her lovely friend Meg with her. Unfortunately, I had to work at 9 am the next day. :(

I will post my "birthday haul" when everything comes in the mail! Although, let's be honest. I bought most of it myself!

My Collection!

Hello again lovelies! Today I had to clean and organize my makeup kit before travelling to the wedding this weekend. I thought it was the perfect opportunity to photograph my collection. I broke it down into sections and in each section I will mention some of my favorite products!

These are my high end palettes! My favorites here are of course my Lorac Pro which I just recently got as a present from a Random Acts of Makeup girl and my Naked 2.

These are my drugstore palettes, my 5 shadow palettes, and my big palette from makeup school. You can see which colors I use from school the most! I use them for highlighting and contouring. I forgot to photograph my MUA Undress Me Too palette. Yes, this is my cats post. I really love my Go Sydney palette - the brights are so pigmented.

My singles and pigments! I love the MAC Violet pigment and the Lancome All That Glitters shadow.

My lipsticks! ..I don't really have favorites here! I really love my MAC Rebel and my Lancome All Done Up. And my Orange Fizz.

Balms, lip crayons, stains, randoms lip products, and glosses! I love my EOS lip balms, OCC Liptar in Lydia, and Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector.

Lip Pencils! Unfortunately, my favorite one is the Clinique Lipliner in Pommegranate which is discontinued. :(

All my liners! My standouts here are the NYX eye and brow pencil in Pearl, Kat Von D liner, and my trusty Maybelline gel liner!
Mascaras! I love my Maybelline Falsies! I really love my Lancome mascaras but find they smudge when I get sweaty.

Cream shadows and eye shadow primers! I *adore* my Too Faced Shadow Insurance. It was the first primer I ever used. I would like it more if it could help conceal my uneven lids but still I adore it.

Blushes and bronzers! I seriously have a shortage of cool toned blushes which is surprising since I am cool! I really want to try a violet blush. I forgot to photograph my Betty Lou Manizer and my Hard Candy cheek tint. My favorites here are my Lancome Sheer Amourose and my Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Plum Wine.

Lashes and glue! The store was all out of Duo so I just used this stuff. I don't really stock lashes or glue in my kit because I am highly allergic to latex!

Highlighters! I love love love the Ben Nye Lumiere but you have to be very careful because it is *very* sparkly.

Foundation, concealer, and powder! Kryolan UltraFoundation palette is my favorite foundation to have in my kit. You can mix and match colors to make the perfect color for anyone. It is full coverage but sheers down quite nicely with moisturizer. For myself I love my Missha BB Cream! My favorite concealer is the Ben Nye Highlight Wheel.

Some tools for my kit! I didn't get pictures of my brushes because they are all drying after being washed.

Here it all is fit tight and neat into a case. I know the case looks unprofessional but my brother helped me decorate it and I don't see him often. <3

That's (most of) my collection folks!

An Everyday Work Makeup ft. Lorac Unzipped

Hello my pretties! Sorry for the lack of updates blah blah blah. Let's face it. I'm pretty much a terrible blogger.  Oh well. Such is the life of a full time busy girl! Today, I got up at 8:00 am though and don't work  until 1:30 which left me plenty of time to do a tutorial. Plus, my amazing boyfriend got me a little lamp for the bathroom that gives me not-quite-as-shitty lighting!

I decided to do a tutorial of a makeup I do pretty often to wear to work. It's simple, it's shimmery, and it stays in place during a busy day managing the Jugo Juice!

**...doo doo doo doo doo doo doo..* I forgot to upload the pictures! It's taking FOREVER. Maybe I will write everything out THEN add pictures and see how that works out for me.

1. Start with a clean, moisturized face! I've never really touched on skincare (yet!) but I will let you all know that I use Dermalogica's Skin Smoothing Cream. It's the only thing that works for me.

2. Using your hands, work a BB cream or foundation into your skin. I used Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in #21. It's a bit dark and if I purchase again, I will definitely go for the #13. I ALSO mixed in a tiny bit of the BB cream with my shadow primer. I have really dark eyes.. look at the difference it makes.

3. Using a dense, flat shadow brush I pat Undiscovered (a warm gold) from Lorac Unzipped onto the inner 1/3 of my eyelid.

4. Using the same eyeshadow brush I pack Unreal from the same palette onto the middle 1/3 of my eyes. This is a slightly rosier gold which I find brightens up my eye.

5. Next using again the same brush and palette I put Uncensored on the outer 1/3 and just above the crease! This color is so, so gorgeous.

6. Using a large fluffy blending brush, blend Uncensored into the crease, slightly above, and into the Unreal on the middle 1/3..

7. I had some trouble getting a finished pic of the eyeshadow IN the look so TADA here it is! I also added Undercover along my brow bone. Speaking of brows, mine are looking rough again! Here's a hint people - do NOT let your cat in the bathroom while your trimming your brows.

 8. The next thing I did was to line my top lash line with an Avon black eyeliner and my bottom waterline with NYX Eye and Brow pencil in White Pearl. I LOVE this white liner. I also filled in my brows using a warm brown eyeshadow. I kinda messed them up today. It happens.. but I'm too lazy to redo them! Usually I would go for a gel liner but Phileas decided to pay stealsies with some of my brushes (like my favorite angled brush) and cat mouth is dirty.
9. Add some mascara! I used Covergirl Waterproof Clump Crusher. I get wet at work and covered in juice so this is important for me.

10. I added some powder all over my face (Clinique Stay Matte in Stay Buff) and a Lumene Lipgloss to shine it up. I don't wear blush at work because when I'm hot I get SO pink! And I'm always hot at work. Also, check out my dorky hair!

Also. No I do not have a bowl cut. I have bangs that look really cute when my hair is done. And really ridiculous when it's up. "Dumb move Jayne. You wear your hair up 5 days a week at least."

Michelle's Bridal Trial

This past Tuesday I was lucky enough to do my amazing boyfriend's sister, Michelle's, trial makeup for her wedding! She is getting married this coming July and I am honored she asked me to do my makeup! I've got to admit doing makeup on someone you know is the most nerve wracking. It always feel 10x more important to do it well because you are going to have to face them after if you mess up! (Not that I don't work hard all the time..!!)

Anyway, I wanted to share a few pics with my lovely readers.

Wearable Summer Color Look

Hello my loves! I have finally made another tutorial. The funny thing about this is that all the reasons  for not making one before are still true PLUS now I have tendinitis in my rotator cuff and can't lift my RIGHT ARM to do my makeup. Sounds like the perfect time to make a tutorial.. right? I decided to do a look using a bright summer color (in this case purple) that is still every day wearable!

Start with a clean moisturized face as always! Mine is looking PRETTY rough because I haven't been able to sleep. Everytime I drift off I roll onto my hurt shoulder!

Add some foundation and concealer and hope to God it makes you look even half decent. I used Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in Beige Rose Pastel. It's a tad orange but hey, I NEEDED to finish off the damn bottle eventually. I also showered after this.

Add a light taupe-y silver to your lid up to the crease. I used Verve from Urban Decay's Naked 2. I also highlighted my brow bone using a white shadow from my Sonia Kashuk palette.

Take a bright colored shadow and apply it right into your crease. Don't add too much or you will have trouble with the next step. I chose to use a bright purple but really any bright color will work. I swear it looked bright purple in person.

Blend the shadow into and slightly above your crease. It's a subtle way to wear brights. Especially if you don't blend it quite as high as I have it. You can only really notice the pop of color when you close your eyes!

In this step I REconcealed under my eyes using the Yaby concealer in Buff that came in my May ipsy. I extended the concealer past my eyes in a diagonal line to sharpen up the edges of the shadow.

Here I've filled in my brows using Elf's brow kit in Medium. I also STARTED my liner process. The first thing I do when I am lining with a gel liner is to go along as close to the lash line as possible pushing the liner into my lashes.

Then I use my angled brush and thicken up the line. Make sure it is thinner on the inside and thicker on the outside. I used Maybeline gel liner in black.

To start my cat eye I angle the brush upward following the line of my eye and press down to create a thin line. Actually, this is NOT how I do my own cat eyes because as you will see later, my hooded eye eats them right up and makes it look weird. However, if you don't have hooded lids this method will work wonders for you.

Then draw another line connecting the tip of the first line to the liner in a triangle shape and fill it in!

Add some blush! I used Maybelline's Dream Bouncy Blush.

And some mascara - Maybelline The Falsies. It seems to be a Maybelline day today!

And add a lippy such as Juice Beauty lip gloss and you are done!

AND ALSO IF YOU ARE FEELING CRAZY PUT ON A PURPLE CREAM SHADOW AS LIPSTICK..! Yep.
